Neonates at the edge of Periviability: care and conundrums
- February 13 - 15, 2025
- Holiday Inn Mumbai Airport - an IHG Hotel, Sakinaka Junction, Mumbai, 400072, India
Objectives
IPOKRaTES seminars provide high quality postgraduate education, which enables professionals to keep abreast of the most recent developments and offer participants the opportunity to discuss clinical problems or scientific issues personally with international experts.
This seminar focuses on an emerging area of neonatal intensive care related to the periviable preterm infant. a periviable birth is defined when delivery occurs from 20 0/7 weeks to 25 6/7 weeks of gestation.
Care of periviable infants remains an ongoing challenge in the field of neonatal and perinatal medicine. These infants contribute significantly to the burden of neonatal morbidity and mortality and long-term neurodevelopmental disability. Substantial differences in approach to resuscitation and management of these infants are observed across centers. This seminar will address various aspects in caring for these infants including fluids and electrolytes, nutrition, delivery room resuscitation, infections, surgical challenges, ethics, family support and the emerging use of artificial intelligence for this population.
Experts from different parts of the globe who have done extensive work in these areas will discuss various aspects of challenges including pathophysiology, developmental considerations, evidence-based studies for preventative and therapeutic interventions for these infants.
